SikaBond® Contractors PVA
SikaBond® Contractors PVA is a versatile, high-performance bonding and sealing agent designed to enhance adhesion, improve workability, and strengthen a wide range of construction materials. Trusted by professionals, it delivers reliable results for both interior and exterior building projects.
Product Features/Specifications
Multi-purpose PVA bonding agent
Suitable for priming, sealing, bonding, and admixture use
Enhances adhesion to porous surfaces
Dries to form a durable, flexible film
Compatible with cement-based products, plaster, and timber
Can be used as a mixing additive to improve mortar and screed performance
Detailed Product Benefits
SikaBond® Contractors PVA significantly improves the bond between surfaces and applied materials, ensuring longer-lasting durability in construction and renovation tasks. When used as a primer, it reduces dusting and regulates surface porosity, enabling more consistent application of adhesives and coatings. As an admixture, it increases the strength, flexibility, and resistance of mortar and plaster formulations. Its fast-drying, high-tack formulation guarantees reliable performance across a variety of substrates, helping to prevent delamination, cracking, and weak bonding.
Applications and Versatility
Ideal for use in:
Priming porous surfaces before tiling or plastering
Bonding wood, paper, plaster, and cementitious materials
Sealing and dust-proofing concrete and screeds
Improving adhesion of render, plaster, and floor levelling compounds
Acting as a bonding agent for patch repairs
Mixing with cement mortars to enhance strength and flexibility
Technical Specifications
Form: Liquid PVA emulsion
Colour: White (dries translucent)
Usage: Bonding agent, primer, sealer, admixture
Compatibility: Suitable for use with cement-based materials, timber, plaster, and general construction substrates
Drying Time: Fast drying (varies with temperature and substrate)
Finish: Flexible, durable polymer film
Packaging: Available in various container sizes (typically 1L, 5L, and larger trade volumes)
Features & Benefits List
Strong Bonding Strength: Ensures durable adhesion across porous surfaces
Improves Workability: Enhances the performance of mortars and plasters
Fast-Drying: Speeds up job completion without compromising quality
Versatile Use: Functions as a primer, sealer, bonding agent, and additive
Dust-Proofing Capability: Ideal for sealing concrete floors and screeds
Cost-Effective: High coverage and multi-purpose functionality reduce material waste
Long-Lasting: Forms a flexible, durable film that resists cracking
Additional Information
Always apply SikaBond® Contractors PVA according to manufacturer guidelines for maximum effectiveness. Surfaces should be clean, sound, and free from contaminants. Dilution ratios vary depending on application—refer to technical data sheets for exact mixing instructions. Test on small areas when working with unfamiliar substrates.
