Our Range of Skirting & Architrave
MDF
Our MDF skirting and architrave options deliver exceptional value for painted finishes. Medium density fibreboard offers consistent dimensional stability without the knots or grain variations found in natural timber. This material machines cleanly, accepts primer readily, and resists warping in centrally heated properties. We stock square dressed profiles, ogee patterns, torus designs, and rebated facings in depths from 44mm through to 245mm. Primed MDF boards arrive ready for top coat application, cutting preparation time on site.
Softwood
Our softwood skirting and architrave range features PEFC certified redwood in square dressed profiles. Natural timber brings warmth and character to interiors, particularly in period properties where authentic materials maintain architectural integrity. Softwood accepts stains, varnishes, and paints, giving flexibility for different decorative schemes. We carry dimensions from 12mm through to 70mm thickness and widths extending to 220mm. Redwood performs well in Scottish climates when properly finished and maintains its appearance across decades of service.
